Incoming call to group does not ring after I hang up

Summary
The member timeout of a group must be configured as required in order to optimize the behavior.

1. Problem definition

  • A phone number (e.g. the main phone number) is assigned to a team, resp. a group where multiple people can answer the call.
  • A member is talking when the call comes in
  • No other member accepts the call and the participant in the conversation hangs up
  • Now it does not ring directly at this participant

2nd solution

Pickup notifications

Softphone users also have the option of pick-up notifications, which enable a call to be taken over at any time at the push of a button.

  • The calling behavior described above is technically correct. When there is an incoming call, it is checked which subscriber is currently available and the bell rings there.
  • If a participant hangs up, this will not be taken into account again immediately. The system is now waiting for the next "ringing cycle" to make another decision. This is set for a relatively long time in the standard.
  • In order to shorten the call cycle, ask Seabix Support to reduce the member timeout to the desired number of seconds (e.g. 10).
  • Let us now assume that the doorbell rings and after 5 seconds the subscriber hangs up, after another 5 seconds the current ringing cycle ends and starts over.
